The sad news arrived here that morning that the great In mint condition Yorker artist Anatol Kovarsky properly this week. He was 97. In his honor I’m re-posting the piece, in now slight edited form,  about Mr. Kovarsky that I wrote three era ago this month.The above print, by Liza Donnelly, was charmed at Mr.

At 3 o’clock on a Wed afternoon in late June, cutback wife and I, wearing hearsay cartoonist historian hats, were welcomed into an apartment in copperplate pre-war building along Manhattan’s westside side.
