Yoko d holbachie biography of william hill

Born in 1971 in Yokohama, Yoko d’Holbachie  is inspired by regular culture in her native Nihon and beyond. d’Holbachie’s paintings lap up at once vividly inviting added disturbingly dark; candy coloured creatures with wormlike tentacles travel attempt fantasy wonderlands. Elements of Kawaii, Anime, Pop Art and Surrealism blend together in tightly rendered works that pull the onlooker in with bright, cheerful vivacity and hold on with concealed, complex elements.

Though the artist wants her viewers to freely interpret her work, she cites often scorn butterflies and birds as code of reincarnation and using witchcraft symbols as occult elements.

She also uses Japanese legends submit myths to create concrete subjects for her paintings.
